Spring Planting is Just Around the Corner!
Each year, Sullivan County Soil & Water Conservation District hosts an Annual Tree & Shrub Program. For the first time this year, you may order online…anything from trees (conifers, deciduous and fruit), ground covers and flowering pacs to habitats (bird houses, bat houses, owl boxes) plus miscellaneous items like fertilizer, deer repellent and marking flags. Prices are reasonable.
Order as soon as possible for better availability. Inventory availability will be shown on line this year and updated each day. The deadline is April 10, 2023 and pick up is on Friday April 21 and Saturday April 22 in Liberty.
Don’t wait until April or you will be disappointed. Popular items go quickly.

January 2023
Things are happening in Parksville. If you would like to get involved or keep up with what’s going on in our neck of the woods, consider the following:
- Join these groups on Facebook: “Parksville, NY Community Board”, “Parksville Priorities Committee,” and our very own group “Elko Lake Home Owners Association.”
- The Parksville Priorities Committee holds monthly meetings on site in Liberty and also via zoom. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 25th @6:30pm. Meetings are held at the Liberty Senior Center, 119 N Main Street in Liberty.
- Someone purchased Fiddles! The owner’s plans for the lot will be announced soon. Attend the Parksville Priority Committee meetings to find out more.
- Our very own Elko Lake residents Kim and Rob Rayevsky (formerly of Rolling River Cafe) are making progress to open “Double Up Catskills” offering fast casual food service in a double decker bus.
- Pickleball comes to Elko Lake! Great way to meet your neighbors and also get some exercise. Christina, Lynn, Rich and Don have already learned the basics. You can too! It’s fun for all ages, shapes and sizes. If you’d like to learn how to play, reach out to Sandra at 203-554-8888 and get added to the list. We will start regular play as soon as the weather warms and the snow passes.
